Madelyn Manning of the Orem University 12th Ward, Orem Utah University 1st Stake, determined a year ago that she wanted to go to the temple.
"I just had a feeling one night," she said, noting that she wanted to take an active role in family history and temple work.
She met with her bishop and he agreed that she was ready to make the sacred covenants associated with the temple.
Still, she wanted to be prepared.
So during the next 12 months, she met regularly with her bishop. She read the scriptures and prayed. He gave her homework.
