Family cheers for Family Home Evening heroes

Every family home evening it's the same thing. I'm trying to get things moving along into the lesson so that we can get past the activity so we can eat the treat.

The kiddos, 8 and 6, will suddenly shout out "Cheers! Cheers! Cheers!" and start dancing around.

No, they aren't asking to watch an old TV sitcom. They literally want "Cheers" -- something we accidentally introduced one family home evening and now can't get rid of.

Here's how it goes: Somebody thinks of something to appreciate in another family member and then everybody cheers them. Simple -- as long as Mom and Dad monitor the nominations to make sure nobody's feelings are hurt.
