The shops at the LDS Church's more than $1 billion City Creek Center won't open until spring 2012, but the progress of the massive downtown Salt Lake development is undeniable.

The Regent, a 22-story residential tower, has sprung up at a rate of one floor every six days, and people are expected to move into the 90-unit Richards Court beginning in April, officials announced Tuesday morning.

City Creek's food court is already open for business, and two Salt Lake favorites, the Red Iguana and Settebello Pizzeria, soon will take up shop there.
