Mormon Life says: Hadn't hear this rumor, but just in case you have...
For some time now a false rumor regarding the closure of the Salt Lake Temple has been circulating. We have confirmed that there is no truth to this rumor. Elder William R. Walker, Executive Director of the Temple Department, has said:
"Persistent rumors that the Salt Lake Temple is to be closed for several years for significant remodeling have no basis in fact."
