The Hallmark Channel is replacing "The Martha Stewart Show," the domestic diva's flagship TV property, with a new daily show fronted by veteran song-and-dance entertainer Marie Osmond.

Hallmark is close to finalizing a deal with Los Angeles-based ATI, which is producing Osmond's new show.

Mormon Life says: I didn't realize she had an inspirational CD out. Sounds great.

They say Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers complemented each other perfectly. He gave her class and she made him sexy.

As a brother and sister act, Donny and Marie Osmond expand each other's range as well.

He gives her pizazz, she gives him depth.

At least that was my impression after catching their Vegas show recently.

Donny and Marie Osmond recently stopped by the Joy Behar show where they chatted about everything from Marie's marriage to their opinions on Broadway's "The Book of Mormon."

When asked why her first marriage to then ex- and now present husband Steve didn't work out, Marie said, "I think we were young, and you get a lot of pressure and opinions. ... [Now] we just both matured and grew up."

Donny is happy for them and believes that this time, it will last. "It is a Cinderella story, with bumps in the road, with a beautiful happy ending."

Behar also talked about the "Mormon" Sister Wives, which Donny and Marie were quick to correct are not Mormon. Although, the idea of having multiple spouses to "do the laundry" wouldn't be so bad, Marie joked.

And concerning the irreverent "Book of Mormon" musical, neither Donny nor Marie have seen it, and don't plan to.

Watch the video on Broadway World's website here.

Earlier in their careers, if you had asked Donny and Marie Osmond where they thought they would be in 40 years, they never would have guessed it would be on the stage at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas preparing for their duo act.

That was the question that fueled Piers Morgan, a weekday CNN talk show host, to sit down with the singing siblings Monday evening on the Flamingo stage to ask about their experiences in and outside the entertainment business.

“(When) you think about a career, especially being a woman, in the entertainment business, you’re lucky to get seven or eight years,” Marie said in the exclusive Piers Morgan Tonight interview. “We’re going on 48 years now. We’re both so grateful.”

Editor's note: This is an excerpt from "Women of Character: Profiles of 100 Prominent LDS Women," edited by Susan Easton Black and Mary Jane Woodger.

Singer Marie Osmond’s faith does not come from her parents, she insists. “I am a member of my Mormon faith because I want to be.” Her faith in God and his restored church is her anchor amid the storms that threaten her sense of peace. In 2010, after attending the funeral of a son who committed suicide, Osmond said, “Little did I know I would be relying on my faith, especially as much as I did this past week.”

With faith in the eternal nature of life and a promise of a “forever family,” Osmond, like so many times before, returned to the stage at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, where she was performing with her brother Donny. She told a standing-room-only crowd, “The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing, and that’s what we want to do tonight.”

Apparently, Marie Osmond’s first husband never got over her.

“He got all the kids around, got on his knee and said he always loved me,” Osmond said in an ABC TV report. “You know he never remarried. I’m just a tough habit to break.”

Osmond, 51, remarried her first husband, Stephen Craig, 54, last week in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. Many media outlets reported similar details regarding the special day. Osmond also wore the same white wedding dress she wore for their original marriage in 1982, as shown in these photos on People magazine's website.

The biggest news story involving Mormonism this week besides the 14 Tony nominations for "The Book of Mormon" musical on Broadway, is, not surprisingly, Marie Osmond’s third wedding.

Major news outlets carried details that she remarried her first husband, former BYU basketball standout Stephen Craig, in a private ceremony in the Las Vegas Temple. The news reported that she wore the same wedding dress that she wore on her first wedding.

Do a quick search in newspaper databases like Lexis-Nexis for the words "Osmond" and "Mormon," and you bring back hundreds of articles. The musical family may have the distinction of being the most famous Mormons over this period of more than 40 years since their breakout success on "The Andy Williams Show." Today, they’re still making news for the church, and I admire them for doing it.

Donny and Marie Osmond stood at the top of wholesome, family-oriented entertainment 35 years ago, back when they were teenagers and Times Square was full of X-rated movie houses and adult book stores.

The duo from Utah’s famous first family of singers were chided for their uncompromising approach to old-style entertainment during the 1980s. That was the era when Times Square began its gradual transformation into a center of pulsing lights, shops and attractions that makes visitors feel as if they are inside a video game.

True fans might say the timing couldn’t be better for a Donny and Marie show on Broadway. Ticketholders to Dec. 9’s opening show sounded more interested in extending old memories into the future than making side-by-side comparisons.

Mormon Life says: Marie Osmond is finally breaking her silence about her 18-year old son Michael Blosil's suicide later this month on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

According to Popeater, Marie Osmond has said that her interview, to be aired later on in November, will be her "first and only interview" about her son's untimely death.

A friend of Marie Osmond told Popeater the following about Marie's decision to talk about this tragedy.

"Marie never imagined she would have the strength to talk about this devastating subject, but with so many gay teens committing suicide recently she had no choice," the friend said. "Against the advice of her family and friends Marie herself decided it was time to speak out and called Oprah to ask if she would be interested."

The part that says "against the advice of her family and friends" makes some people wonder if Marie Osmond will tell Oprah that her late son was gay. There were many who speculated as much before the young man took his own life, and there are many who still believe it to this day.
